Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 20, 2026

BriefPal ("we," "us," or "our") operates the BriefPal.ai service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and payment information. Payment details are processed securely by our third-party payment processor and are not stored on our servers.

Content You Submit: You may submit articles, reports, PDFs, links, podcast URLs, and video URLs for processing into briefs. We process this content to generate your briefs and audio episodes.

Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with BriefPal, including brief generation history, feature usage, and access times. This helps us improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate structured intelligence briefs and audio episodes from the content you submit
  • Build and maintain your personal knowledge base and signal-to-noise scoring
  • Improve and optimize the BriefPal service
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests
  • Process payments and manage your subscription

3. AI Processing and Data Handling

BriefPal uses artificial intelligence to analyze the content you submit and generate structured briefs. Here is how we handle your data during this process:

  • Processing: Submitted content is processed through our AI pipeline to extract key information, generate summaries, and create audio narrations.
  • Retention: We do not store your raw input content longer than needed for processing. Once your brief is generated, the original source material is deleted from our processing systems.
  • Knowledge Base: The briefs themselves and associated metadata (tags, novelty scores) are stored in your personal knowledge base for as long as you maintain your account.
  • No Training: Your content is never used to train AI models. Your data is processed solely for your benefit.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following categories of third-party services to operate BriefPal:

  • AI Processing Providers: We use frontier language models to generate briefs and audio scripts. Content is sent to these providers solely for processing and is not retained by them beyond the processing session.
  • Voice Synthesis: Audio briefs are generated using third-party voice synthesis technology. Only the generated script (not your source content) is sent to the voice provider.
  • Payment Processing: Subscription payments are handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor.
  • Infrastructure: We use cloud hosting providers to run our service securely.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and keep you logged in. We may use analytics tools to understand how users interact with BriefPal in aggregate. We do not use advertising trackers or sell your data to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and brief library for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and request account deletion, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data and account.
  • Data Portability: Request an export of your briefs and knowledge base in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to processing of your personal data for certain purposes.
  • Restriction: Request that we limit the processing of your personal data.

To exercise any of these rights, please reach out via our contact form.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

BriefPal is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
